1991 design introduced · Central Bank of Malta

Lampuka · dolphinfish provides the identifying design on this 10 cents coin. The 1991 revision kept the flora and fauna motifs but replaced the national-side emblem with the newer heraldic coat of arms. This distinguishes it from the otherwise similar 1986 issue. Dates and proof finishes are not counted as additional design types. Compare the emblem together with the motif when assigning a specimen to its family.
